Rainbow

That day was so real and special,
When I spotted nothing bad or diabolical.
It had been raining that day,
And everything satanic, the water carried away.

After the rain the sun shone bright.
Feeling its golden rays was a delight.
And then I saw the 'sign of hope' - a Rainbow,
Which appeared to bow me as it hunched low.

Its seven colours - bright and new,
Filled me with a new verve and hue.
I started feeling good and blue,
And listed all my agony and complaints as due.

I watched this nature's gift for some time.
And tried to figure the literary reason for its shine.
After not much time I came to that reason,
Which washed away all my hope and confusion.

A rainbow appears after it rains,
After when, all the water from a cloud drains.
It shows its glamour then only,
Till that time, it lives hidden and lonely.

When rainbow welcomes us, the clouds disappear.
Where have they gone?? No one fears.
Their death has produced this rainbow
Who touches the peak of the sky and this Earth so low.

I feel sad, sad for those clouds who were killed,
To let this world smile and to let joy build.
So sacrificing is their attitude -
Still their destruction, within us causes no disquietude.

Clouds shriek when they thunder,
They cry when they rain,
They disappear when they die,
Still we understand nothing, so in vain.

The best proof is, we celebrate a rainbow,
Which is actually a dome on the grave of the clouds.
Have we become so mean and callous?
As we care for no one, save the persons living in our house.

It is sad to know that people see a rainbow as a sign of ‘hope’,
They should hang such notions with the strongest rope.
As, how can anyone rejoice firmly a death?
It’s disgusting, it fills my heart with the bitterest wrath.

Why doesn’t a rainbow ever appear in night?
Why only to the day it shows its ugly sight?
If it were hope, then why didn’t it light the dark?
Why did it only help shine those things which were already with a spark?

Making the BEST better is futile.
Making something bad, something good is divine.
So, a Rainbow holds no sanguine with itself,
It only signifies the death of someone selfless.

Thus, comparing ‘hope’ and ‘Rainbow’ is unfair,
Rainbow is a mere sign of distress and despair.
It carries nothing within it from which one can get inspired,
As a Rainbow was formed when someone suffered and got expired.
